We’re getting ready to mark World Mental Health Day.  The day is an opportunity for all of us to raise awareness of mental health issues. The theme of this year’s event set by the World Federation for Mental Health is suicide and suicide prevention.

Suicide statistics across the UK continue to rise, we hope to encourage more people to access counselling as early intervention could prevent unnecessary loss.

Seeking counselling support is not just for when you are in crisis. It is an empowering step which can help you gain a deeper insight into understanding the ‘why’ whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, loss or coming to terms with life changing events.

1 in 5 people experience suicidal thoughts in their lifetime.Every year close to 800,000 people globally take their own life and there are many more people who attempt suicide. Every suicide is a tragedy that affects families, communities and has long-lasting effects on the people left behind. It’s the leading cause of death among young people aged 20-34 years in the UK and is the second leading cause of death among 15-29 year-olds globally.

Come along and join us on Thursday 10 October at Harpur Square, Bedford, where you’ll find us among lots of local organisations all talking about positive mental health.  Find out more about our range of counselling services including:-

  • Free short term service for NHS patients
  • Free short term service for Victims of Crime
