Self-love is important to living well. However, practicing self-love can be challenging and doesn’t come naturally for many of us. By practicing self-love we will attract people and circumstances that support and have a positive influence on our well-being and our levels of resilience.

Start your day positively
Let one of your first thoughts of the day be to tell yourself something positive, whether it’s how you look today or how you’ve handled a situation.
Be mindful of what you think, feel and want. People who have more self-love tend to know what they think, feel, and want. They are mindful of who they are and act on this knowledge, rather than on what others want for them.
Practice Self Care
It’s important to take better care of your practical needs. People high in self-love nourish themselves daily through healthy activities, like sound nutrition, exercise, proper sleep, intimacy and healthy social interactions.
Don’t believe our inner critic
There is an inner critic inside of us trying to keep us small and safe. The downside is this also stops us from living a full life.
Allow only good people into your life
We need friends who are a positive influence on us, who encourage, love and respect us and who take genuine pleasure in our happiness and success.
It isn’t healthy or fair to compare ourselves to another being. We are unique and we should be celebrate the things that make us different.
Don’t be hard on yourself
We need to forgive ourselves for any mistakes, we can’t change the past, only control our future. There are no failures, we learn lessons from experience and grow from our mistakes.
Find something good in every day
Even on our darkest days, it’s important to find at least one thing we are grateful for and appreciate. Take solace in the good things and how we can influence our future and to make positive things happen.
