Are you ready to take the first step to support others?

Whether you’re intending to train as a fully qualified counsellor, or looking to learn counselling skills to enhance or change your current career – there’s no doubt about it that what you’re about to learn could enable you to benefit the lives of many others.

It is approximated that for every one person that seeks support via a therapeutic talking experience, ten other people are indirectly affected, that’s a lot – not to mention the positive impact you could have on your own life.

So what are you waiting for?

Unlike large learning institutions our Counselling Training Centre has a greater involvement with every student in their learning journey. Every student is an individual in their learning journey from their first enquiry through to qualifying as a counsellor.

Our qualified students are so satisfied in their learning experience that they return to us to provide tuition for new students. We are proud to have helped hundreds of people pursue their personal and career interests in counselling. Our graduates work in all sectors of the counselling industry and some go on to further specialist training.

Training is available throughout Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire including Watford, St Albans, Luton, Welwyn Garden City and Bedford.

The Training Centre provides additional learning days to help students interact and learn from experienced senior staff.

You will train in real counselling centres where clinicians work closely to ensure you get the best and most up to date theoretical training and clinical experience. The Training Centre and Counselling Centres are unique as they work together to provide many students with clinical experience and theoretical experience at our sites.

What our students say about our courses:

Foundation Certificate – 2016
I found the Foundation Course In Psychodynamic Counselling a highly instructive and rewarding experience.  I enrolled on the course to begin fulfilling my ambition of becoming a professional counsellor and have learned a phenomenal amount – both theoretically and personally – during the year.  Through academic study, group work and plenty of role-play, the course has given me a strong background and understanding of psychodynamic counselling, supported by teachers who are friendly, knowledgeable and thought provoking, and who use their experiences to bring to life what being a professional counsellor is really like.

As I begin the Diploma course, I’m confident that the Foundation course has provided me with the necessary background knowledge and skills to continue my studies successfully and become an effective counsellor.

Foundation Certificate – 2016
I found the Foundation Course In Psychodynamic Counselling a wonderful introduction to counselling.  Considering this is an introductory course, it manages to cover a wide range of psychodynamic theories and concepts balanced with teaching and enabling the development of the key skills needed to be a counsellor.

Thanks to the course content and experiential group work I am on a path of self-discovery. This has led to a greater understanding what motivates me which in turn is helping me to think clearly about how I want to live my life.
The Counselling Foundation is a friendly and professional organisation that is passionate about what it does whether helping others, training people like myself or raising mental health awareness in the community.
