This year’s Mental Health Awareness Week held from 11-17 May was the most successful yet!

During the week, organised by the Mental Health Foundation,  people in their thousands backed the campaign on Twitter and Facebook, enabling the charity to reach of more than 1 million people. The need for preventative mental health measures appeared in the Guardian, Independent, and in more than 180 regional media outlets; and The Mental Health Foundation featured on ITV, BBC, and Sky.

In St Albans, the District Health and Wellbeing Partnership, marked the  Mental Health Awareness Week in the old Town Hall on 13th May. The centre had taken a stall at the event, which gave us an opportunity to promote our services to residents and also among other local mental healthy charities.

We managed to draw the newly re-elected MP,  Ann Main to our stall, who was very interested in our work for the local community. Watch this space!

This year, the Mental Health Foundation focused on Mindfulness – to see our piece on this amazing topic please click here.
