As part of the Schools ‘Engaging Minds’ initiative, The Counselling Foundation’s CEO, Robert Cuming presented to an audience of Verulam School 6th Formers on Friday 24th November.
Robert, was encouraged by his visit to Verulam school and to meet the new generation of young people, who were engaged and open to talk about mental health. Prior to the talk on ‘anxiety and depression’ 6th formers’ hosted a lunch with Robert, where they were able to have an informal chat and ask questions around anxiety and depression and identify what was important to them.
Robert was able to share first hand experience of what can trigger anxiety and he was impressed with the questions and attention to some of the key messages from students.
He said “The Foundation is keen to continue to support schools and young people to better understand anxiety and depression, and we will continue to offer guidance and advice to tackle this critical mental health issue”.
