St George’s Day lunch supports counselling
It’s great news that the Foundation’s work has been recognised by The St Albans District Chamber of Commerce as one of their three nominated charities, which will be supported through the auction proceeds from their annual St George’s Day Lunch being held on 26 April. CEO Robert Cuming said “this is a fantastic opportunity to raise not only awareness of the work we do in our community but to raise funds for those we support with counselling, and we are very grateful to the Chamber.”
Each week, The Counselling Foundation supports over 500 people who suffer from anxiety and depression with a confidential counselling service. We work with those coping with life-changing events such as the bereaved who are struggling to come to terms with grief. Every pound donated through fundraising goes directly to subsidise weekly counselling sessions, increasing the number of people we are able to help access much needed support.
Lisa Bates-Wallis, Executive Director of The St Albans Chamber of Commerce said of the Foundation “the work you do is so important.”
The other two charities are The Ollie Foundation and Herts Domestic Abuse Helpline (HDAH)
