Our grants Manager Judy Mallinson had a rewarding evening on Thursday 4 July celebrating the success of the 2019 St Albans Annual Charity Cycle Ride
The three main Rotary Clubs met for an evening event at Woollams on Harpenden Road, along with two other headline charities Alzheimers Research UK, Secondary First (Cancer Research).
Judy was on hand to receive a donation on behalf of the Foundation of £3,000 at the SACCR Presentation Evening and commented;
“The cycle event is hugely social and brings together the local community. We are thrilled to receive this donation which will help contribute towards the cost of supporting our subsidised counselling service.
There is a strong link between physical and mental health, especially cycling and the SACCR was a great event to promote the positive impact exercise can have on our mental wellbeing helping to reduce anxiety and stress, through the release of our ‘feel good hormones’
An amazing team of riders also raised an additional £500 between them through sponsporship.
