Following the recent awareness campaigns including Mental Health Awareness Week, Mens Health Week and Loneliness Week, we take a moment to reflect on the one off BBC documentary, Anxiety and Me. The film features Great British Bake Off winner 2015, Nadiya Hussain as she shares her everyday struggles with anxiety and explores the causes and the effective treatments to manage her anxiety, which include personal therapy.
The Foundation applaud this powerful and moving programme as it shows that despite her ongoing success, behind the scenes, Nadiya still suffers with anxiety, a condition she has lived with since childhood. More, importantly it highlights that it is difficult to know or see when someone may be suffering from anxiety, as on the outside, Nadiya appears healthy, beautiful, composed and impeccably dressed.
To coincide with National Loneliness week we encourage you to reach out to someone and ask if they are really ok?
