Feeling inspired by our Marathon runner Mandy?  Any physical activity can improve your wellbeing, including running.
I’m running to raise funds to help more people share what’s worrying them with a trained counsellor.  One in four people suffer from a range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, bereavement or life changing events.
The Foundation offer subsidised counselling that can help to improve family life, reduce isolation and encourage people back into paid or volunteering work.

With the strong link between physical fitness and good mental health, the London Marathon is a great fundraising activity for our counselling charity to be part of.

Week 4

I didn’t think I would do a long run this week with my back and knee hurting during the week.

I had food before my long run for the first time along with some pain killers, my knee cuff and a heat pad for my back. I accidentally ran 0.5 mile further (really…I know ) and did 15.5 miles. Yipee!!.

Hips didn’t really hurt and heat patch stopped my back hurting.

I sped up, as planned, for the last 4.5 miles ahead of my 1230 min/mile training pace. (1145 min/mile marathon goal pace).

Very Happy Sunday….punched the air as I came into the last .3 of a mile!!

Here is to a good week 5 🙂
