The Foundation fully supports ‘Where’s Your Head At?’ campaign, we’re encouraged about this positive step towards making a real impact for mental health in the workplace. Where MPs are being urged to answer the calls from across society to change the law and put mental and physical first aid on an equal footing in the workplace.
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) are delighted to announce that a Parliamentary debate on mental health first aid is scheduled for Thursday 17th January.
Where’s Your Head At?
Is a campaign to change the law to protect our mental health, by ensuring employers look after the wellbeing of their workforce. They recognise that the earlier a mental health issue – like stress, anxiety or depression is detected the easier it is to manage and treat. They want to make it easy for us to talk about mental health at work & ensure that there are trained colleagues on site to point you in the direction of any help you might need.
The debate is sponsored by a cross-party trio of MPs, Luciana Berger MP (Lab), Norman Lamb MP (Lib Dem) and Johnny Mercer MP (Con), and follows a groundswell of support for the issue from more than 200,000 members of the public, and over 50 senior leaders from across business, education and mental health.
