Do you know an older relative, friend or neighbour who would benefit from talking to someone?
The Old People’s Trust in partnership with The Counselling Foundation are working together to offer emotional support to the over 60s in our community during the pandemic.
Emotional support via telephone or online (zoom/skype) is available to anyone over 60 living in the St Albans District who is impacted by Covid-19 and facing issues around:
- loneliness and isolation
- health anxieties
- family and relationship difficulties
This support is being generously funded by The Old People’s Trust. In order to help as many people as possible, we would welcome any contributions the cost of this service.
Kate Newton, Grants Manager on behalf of the Old People’s Trust commented,
“At this difficult time for everyone, especially the elderly, the St Albans Old People’s Trust recognises that there are many older people across the District who are very anxious and distressed and who could benefit from the support of counselling. The Trust is delighted to award a grant to The Counselling Foundation to support the excellent work they do and to provide subsidised counselling.”
If you know a relative, friend or neighbour who may benefit from having someone to talk to, please share or e-mail us on their behalf: firstname.lastname@example.org
This includes those living in St Albans District across Park Street, London Colney, Colney Heath as well as Redbourn and Harpenden.
Jo Spilling, Clinical “This funding enables the Foundation to identify and help make a difference to the lives of older people who are experiencing isolation and have not tried counselling support before.”
