Upcoming CPDs

Date: Saturday 11th June 10:00am – 11:30am

Topic: ‘Exploring Maternal Ambivalence’

Presenter: Marta Moe

Suitable Audience: Counselling students and practitioners

How is the mother presented in psychodynamic theory and within British culture?

In this seminar we will look at how the mother seems to have become the ‘go-to villain’ in psychoanalytic theory; the silent scapegoat to blame for our clients’ suffering (Caplan and Hall- McCorquodale, 1985), and explore how the therapist’s multiple roles (therapist – parent – child) may come to influence the client’s process.
