Sincere thanks to Sharnbrook Learning for Pleasure for their donation of £192.50 in support of our Bedford Counselling Centre. The Foundation are proud to be Sharnbrook’s chosen charity for this academic year.
Sharnbrook choose charitable organisations where there is a local connection to the group and a local connection to the charity. This year’s choice of The Counselling Foundation has Sharnbrook resident Fiona (Bedford Centre Head) as the local connection, who has had the opportunity to meet several members of the group at church and been able to raise awareness of our counselling charity.
The Counselling Foundation Bedford Centre has been chosen, as it serves the locality around Bedford and beyond. The group likes to support a range of organisations and this year felt mental health and wellbeing was an appropriate cause, following last year’s support of a medical charity.
Fiona said “Sharnbrook are an enterprising bunch who enjoy sharing creative activities together, such as Photography, Art, Recorders, Local History, Croquet, Table Tennis, Singing, Rambling, Country Dancing, Crafts, Travel, Bridge, Music Appreciation and Pilates.
Although Covid has disrupted their schedule, the Sharnbrook Learning for Pleasure Creative Writing Group have been busy producing and selling the fourth edition of its Coffee Break magazine, with all proceeds of sale going to the Foundation.”
Please email Fiona if you are interested and would like a copy of the coffee break magazine.
Sharnbrook is a North Bedfordshire village in England located 9 miles north of Bedford, just off the A6 and to the north of the River Great Ouse where it meets the brook that gives the village its name.
