Who is this course for:
Learning counselling skills can be beneficial in every aspect of life, whether for personal growth or as the first step towards a new career. Our Introduction to Counselling, an entry-level mental health training course, is open to everyone and the skills you acquire are highly transferable.
This four-week, 12-hour course provides a solid foundation in key counselling topics, including its historical and cultural origins, different theoretical approaches and the vital importance of the counselling relationship.
You will gain essential communication tools to better understand and listen to those around you. These powerful competencies in active listening are invaluable not only for aspiring counsellors but also for managers, team members, parents and carers who need strong communication skills in their roles.
While this beginner level counselling course is primarily theoretical, it also develops an awareness of basic counselling skills through role-play exercises in Zoom breakout rooms. For this reason, it is essential that all attendees join the sessions with their video enabled.
